Lindisfarne Mailart

Lindisfarne mailart from:

Rev Helen Hancock Full time curate St Andrew & St Mark, Surbiton

Pilgrimages are special journeys to deepen one's relationship with God.But they are only part of a greater journey. I see my whole life as a pilgrimage.I like to think that each day I connect with God's power in small ways which can help me and help me to lead others.

In the Celtic tradition, Holy Places - places of pilgrimage such as Glastonbury and Lindisfarne - are known as thin places where the veil between heaven and earth is at its thinnest.I think it's a shame when people see a barrier between God and us. For me Heaven and earth co-exist, God is all around us, all the time. But the natural beauty of a place, the stillness of the Holy Island, can bring you to an awareness of God as our Creator God and allow you to experience Him in a deeper way.
