Angel of The North mailart
I've had some more Angel of the North mailart in from Vycki Angel in the USA and also from Dewi, a mailartist from Canada, who I recently met while he was over here in the U.K. Take a look at their contributions and please do feel free to send in some of your own.

Angel of The North mailart from:
Kathryn Saville

As a displaced Northerner (ripped untimely from Manchester in the late sixties) I have a great fondness for all things from the area. Sadly, I’ve yet to make it to see the Angel of the North but I know I’d love it. What a magnificent, bold statement.
Anyone from the North East will of course already be berating me for claiming ‘Northerness’ – they’d have me down as a Midlander no doubt. But where does the North begin? Certainly a lot higher up the country than Watford Gap. But it always surprises me quite how far South Sheffield is (nobody can deny that that particular accent is full-on North). Just a short drive North of Nottingham (which definitely cannot make such a claim) and everything feels very different.
I digress. The North was the inspiration for my ‘Stamp Art’ and so, with my trusty Stanley Gibbons Concise in hand, I had a look to see just how many stamps celebrate the North. The cheeky saucy postcard Blackpool stamp sprang to mind immediately, of course, as did the Cathedrals series but the Emmerdale stamp was much more of a surprise. And where are the Manchester-related issues? Maybe I’m biased but there’s a certain paucity in this area methinks. Maybe it’s time to lobby the Stamp Advisory Committee?
